What is the difference between your online course and in-person course?
Both options provide you with the required full 30 hour curriculum. Online allows a student to complete the curriculum at home, any day of the week or time of the day. Our in-person option brings the students into the classroom with one of our state certified instructors 2 afternoons a week to complete the required hours. This option includes many guest speakers and hands on learning (see our FAQ page).
Both options include all 12 hours in our vehicles with our instructors to complete the course. Driving schedules are selected individually by the student throughout the course .
If I register for a course now, is my deposit refundable or transferable?
We can transfer your deposit to any course you take with Panhandle Driving school but it is non-refundable.
Should I wait until Summer to take the course to avoid snowy or icy roadways?
In our professional opinion, no. Learning in the snow and ice with a trained professional in a vehicle equipped with a passenger side brake is a major benefit.
Does completing the registration below secure my seat in the class?
Yes. You will also receive a confirmation email from us directly with your 4 page course details packet upon registering. This email is processed manually so please allow 2 business days. Cost for the in-person class is $350 , cost for online class is $375 . You will only pay $150 upon registering, the remaining balance will be billed 3 weeks before class begins.
Do I have to be a Sandpoint High School student to take this course?
NO. Lake Pend Orielle School district rents us the space to utilize their building but we are a private business and can accept any Idaho driver seeking a driving permit between the ages of 14.5 to 20 in our course.
